Home Burglars On The Loose

Here is a story and home video from the local CBS affiliate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania about three suspects who stole $20,000 in jewelry during a home burglary.

According to police investigators the three suspects broke into a home and stole a safe that contained jewelry, passports, birth certificates, Social Security cards, one thousand dollars in cash and jewelry valued at $20,000.

Surveillance video from the area was recovered and depicted two white males and one white female all in their twenties during the time of the burglary.

We are big fans of safes. But when burglars can walk out of a house with a safe that isn’t doing anybody any good. That is why we recommend that you consider a diversion safe. A diversion safe is not a safe in the true sense of the word but more of a way to hide your valuables than secure them.

Del Monte Diversion Safe

Del Monte Diversion Safe

This Del Monte Fruit Can is a good example. It looks just like a Dell Monte fruit can but has a hollowed out interior is weighted down to give it the feel of the real thing. You can hide cash, jewelry and other small valuables inside this diversion safe. Other diversion safes are bigger that can hold items as big as a handgun.

“Most burglars spend less than six minutes inside a victim’s home and only check the most obvious places for valuables. These unique “safes” allow you to hide valuables in the last place a thief would think to look-inside common household products.”
