Home Security Video Catches Bad Guy

This is a story from TV station KOMO in Seattle about a home burglar who was caught on camera while committing the crime.

Detectives are looking at the home surveillance video after a thief went into a homeowner’s garage, got into his car and stole his wallet.

The homeowners closed the garage door but apparently the family cat triggered a sensor that reopened it.

“About 15 minutes later, home surveillance cameras photographed a young man wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, khaki-colored pants, and a black winter hat. On the video, the man is is seen walking up to the house and entering the garage.”

The homeowner had installed surveillance cameras several years ago after someone had gone through the families’ belongings in the garage.

He didn’t realize his credit card was stolen until he got an email alert from his bank.

If you have installed security cameras around your home and are victim of a home burglary, you have a 50% better chance of catching the bad guys and getting your stolen property back. Police can use the video as an important tool in catching home burglars.
