80% Of Burglaries Go Unsolved

Here is a story from the Fox television affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas about Unsolved Burglary Cases in the city. So far this year that have been 2200 cases of burglary in Little Rock that have been reported. Many more go unreported. National statistics tell us that a home burglary happens every 13 seconds with a little over $2100 in stolen property on average in every case.

In this particular case one of the items that the burglars stole was a homeowner’s checkbook. They didn’t realize it was stolen until they started getting phone calls every couple of days from a different place with hot checks popping up all over the place. One bank even had a picture of the bad check writer on camera but the police did nothing. They were forced to do their own detective work.

Little Rock shows a 19.7% rate of solve cases of burglary which is actually above the national average. But that means that four out of every five cases goes unsolved.
