MIT Getting Serious About Assaults

This is a story from the Washington Post opinion page about sexual assaults on campus.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology otherwise known as MIT to the study recently that showed that 17% of undergraduate women experienced sexual assaults. These results were consistent with other national studies and underscored the seriousness of the problem. The op-ed piece noted that by undertaking such a detailed study MIT has signaled they are serious about finding solutions to the issue for their students.

The responses provided insights into sexual behavior on campus and will be used to form a policy going forward.

It suggests that after years of turning a blind eye to a widespread problem, schools are finally paying attention and taking needed action.
